Larry Bird, Michael Jordan, Kobe Bryant and Lebron James hit behind the backboard shots kind of* *Bird's shot didn't count because it was the only one that was truly behind the backboard from where his feet were when he took the shot (according to NBA rules). Jordan, Kobe and Lebron's feet were outside the free throw lane when they took the shot so their shots were legal and counted and not considered behind the backboard by NBA rules. Bird's feet were in the FT lane when he launched the shot, so by NBA rules he took the shot behind the backboard and it did not count.
